FEMA Administrator surveys tornado damage with officials.

LITTLE ROCK (KATV) — The damage produced by the tornado that slammed through Little Rock on Friday is being assessed by the city's Mayor Frank Scott Jr., Lieutenant Governor Leslie Rutledge, Attorney General Tim Griffin, and the Administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Deanne Criswell.

Criswell pondered the accounts of such destruction that she had heard throughout her life.

Mayor Frank Scott Jr. spoke about how he and Governor Sanders visited regions of the destruction. He stated that there has been good communication between the state and municipal governments in their efforts to do what is best for the people of Arkansas.

Rutledge added, "Arkansans are resilient." She went on to elaborate on this by informing the administrator that when she travels to the town of Wynne, she will witness the affection that is shared between residents in the same neighbourhood.

Criswell concluded his presentation by discussing the assistance available from the federal government. He stated that insurance firms represent the initial stage of assistance to private persons.

Individuals who do not have health insurance can apply for assistance with FEMA.
